Beating Spence has changed Tszyu’s position. He is no longer chasing a rebuild fight. He is a live contender at 160lb with a marketable win, and his promoter has been explicit about wanting the Lara fight next. Rose said plainly that the Lara fight should be next, and that he would like to stage it in Australia.
The alternative on the table is a Jermell Charlo rematch, which carries genuine needle: Charlo has twice pulled out of scheduled bouts with Tszyu. It is the easier fight to sell domestically, but it does not come with a belt.
