GUIDE TO THE MAGIC MILLIONS CARNIVAL

The Magic Millions Carnival takes place each January and is a day of top-class racing during the 18 days of Magic Millions auctions. 

Taking place at Gold Coast in Queensland, there are only 10 races staged during the carnivals and only horses that have been sold at Magic Millions auctions in previous years are eligible to run. Three of the 10 races are the prestigious Magic Millions Cup, Magic Millions 2YO Classic and the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.

The Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) carries the biggest prize of the 10 races in the carnival with $2million on offer for some of the horses who went through the previous year’s yearling sale. The $1million Magic Millions 3YO Trophy (1400m) as further intrigue to the schedule along with the Magic Millions Cup (1400m)

Other races to be staged are the Open Sprint, Stayers Cup, Maiden Plate, Restricted Race, Country Cup, 2YO Plate, and a fillies and mares handicap.
