The FedExCup Playoffs are the PGA Tour’s three-week finish to the season, and in 2026 they run from 13 to 30 August. Seventy players start, thirty finish, and the field is cut twice on the way through. This is our guide to the standings, the qualification cut-offs, the three events, the money and how to bet it, with the Australian and New Zealand angle up front.

FedExCup Playoffs 2026 Schedule

Because the cut-offs are cumulative, a player can win the first event and still be eliminated a fortnight later, and a player sitting 68th can play his way to East Lake. That is what makes the middle week the most interesting one to bet.

FedExCup Standings: The Top 10

These are the standings the 70-man field was set from, after the regular season finished at the Wyndham Championship. The top 10 also share the first slice of the bonus pool before a playoff shot is hit.

Tommy Fleetwood is the defending FedExCup champion and starts the playoffs sixth. Rory McIlroy is chasing a record fourth title. One quirk worth knowing: Daniel Berger qualified but is not playing in Memphis, so the first event is a 69-player field rather than 70.

The Australian and New Zealand Angle

Min Woo Lee is the highest-ranked Australian at 28th in the FedExCup standings, which puts him comfortably inside the top 50 cut for the BMW Championship but with work to do to reach East Lake. Adam Scott also made the field, having needed a result late in the regular season to get there.

The highest-ranked player from this part of the world is New Zealander Ryan Fox at 23rd, who arrives as the reigning Open champion after his win at the year’s final major. He is the Australasian most likely to be playing on the last day in Atlanta.

Cam Davis and Jason Day both missed the 70 and their seasons are over. For an Australian audience that narrows the interest to two names in Memphis, which is worth remembering before backing a “top Australasian” market with a thin pool of runners in it.

How the FedExCup Playoffs Work

Qualification: FedExCup points are earned all season, with the most on offer at the majors and the signature events. The top 70 after the Wyndham Championship make the playoffs.

Week 1, the FedEx St Jude Championship: All 70 play. Points still accumulate, and the standings are re-cut to the top 50 afterwards.

Week 2, the BMW Championship: The 50 survivors play, with no cut in the tournament itself. The standings are then cut to the top 30.

Week 3, the Tour Championship: The last 30 play for the FedExCup. It is deliberately the hardest field on Tour to qualify for.

Movement is the whole point: Points are weighted heavily enough in the playoffs that the standings move a long way in three weeks. Position going in matters far less than form once it starts.

What Changed for 2026: No Starting Strokes

This is the change that matters most if you are betting the Tour Championship. East Lake no longer uses the staggered Starting Strokes system that handed the leader a head start before anyone teed off. In 2026 all 30 players begin at even par and it is a straight 72-hole stroke-play tournament.

The practical effect: the Tour Championship is now a normal golf tournament to price, and the FedExCup outright and the Tour Championship outright are no longer close to the same bet. Reaching East Lake is the reward for the season; winning it is a separate contest that the 30th seed can take.

FedExCup Prize Money and the Bonus Pool

The FedExCup bonus pool is US$100 million, separate from the tournament purses, and it is paid in three instalments.

The FedExCup winner takes US$10 million from that final pool and a five-year PGA Tour exemption, which for a player outside the elite is worth more than the cheque.

Rory McIlroy has won it three times, more than anyone. Tiger Woods is the only other multiple winner with two. No Australian has won the FedExCup.

Betting the FedExCup Playoffs

Tournament outright: Each of the three events is priced as a normal tournament. Small fields mean shorter prices than a regular week, so the outright is less generous than it looks.

Top-10 and top-20 finish: In a 69 or 50-man field with no halfway cut at the BMW, place-style markets are the sensible way in. A top-20 finish in a 50-player field is a very different proposition to a top 20 in a full field.

FedExCup outright: A season-long market, and since 2026 removed Starting Strokes it is no longer effectively the same bet as the Tour Championship outright. Price them separately.

Head-to-head and three-balls: The cleanest playoff bet. Elite fields make matchups tighter and the pricing sharper than outrights.

To reach East Lake: Markets on making the top 30 are the ones the cumulative cut-offs create, and they are where knowing who has ground to make up pays off.
