The Mariners will be aiming to extend their 12-game unbeaten run in all competitions when they face Adelaide at Coopers Stadium on Saturday night.

After a slow start to their premiership defence, the Mariners have well and truly found their groove, coming into this clash having won five of their last six A-League games.

Central Coast have climbed to third spot on the ladder, just two behind Melbourne Victory and four adrift of league leaders Wellington.

The Mariners are coming off a comfortable 2-0 win over the Roar last week, with Angel Torres scoring his eighth goal of the season, lifting him to equal third on the goalscoring charts.

Meanwhile, Adelaide have been inconsistent all season and head into this showdown with just two wins from their last nine games.

Adelaide haven’t defeated a team currently in the top six since the very start of the season in October, so they are being outclassed by the elite teams at the moment.
