It’s now or never for the Roar as they come up against the Jets at Suncorp on Saturday night.

Currently five points outside the top six, Brisbane need to keep winning until the end of the season to have an outside shot of sneaking into the finals.

The Roar gave themselves a fighting chance with a 2-1 upset victory on the road against the sixth-placed Wanderers last weekend.

That win snapped a two-game losing skid against Macarthur and Wellington and they’ve got a favourable draw here to stay in finals contention.

Newcastle are once again languishing at the wrong end of the ladder and the club might not even exist next season as their struggle to secure new ownership continues.

The Jets were on a nine-game winless run before a shock 3-1 triumph at home last week against the in-form Sydney FC – although, the Sky Blues were reduced to 10 men in the first half.

Rob Stanton’s side haven’t won on the road in 2024 and have lost their last three trips to Brisbane, so back-to-back victories seems unlikely.

VERDICT:

Brisbane couldn’t hope for a better opponent in a must-win game with their finals hopes on the line.
