Here are the latest happenings in the NRL Telstra Premiership at the end of round 11.
Eels Upset Knights
Newcastle Knights 6-28 Parramatta Eels
The Knights’ finals aspirations are quickly fading after a poor performance at home against a weak Eels side. Zac Lomax was on fire for Parramatta, running for 271 metres, making 2 line breaks, and bagging 2 tries. The Knights were down 10 at half-time, and then the wheels really fell off when Kai Pearce-Paul was sent off in the 61st minute.
Bulldogs Win a Thriller Against Roosters
Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 24-20 Sydney Roosters
Despite the Roosters leading 14-0 at half-time and Mark Nawaqanitawase scoring one of the best tries in NRL history, the Doggies mounted an incredible comeback. Canterbury racked up 4 tries in the second half, and some clutch kicking from Matt Burton helped the Bulldogs just edge the Roosters with 5 minutes to go.
Warriors Grind Down Dolphins in QLD
The Dolphins 12-16 New Zealand Warriors
The Warriors played like they do in Auckland, especially in the first half, as Marata Niukore and Kurt Capewell scored. However, with 10 minutes to go, the Warriors fell asleep as the Dolphins scored 2 quick tries and nearly stole the game. Ultimately, the Queensland side ran out of time.
Sea Eagles Soar Past Cowboys
North Queensland Cowboys 6-24 Manly Sea Eagles
Lehi Hopoate had a fantastic game for Manly, leading the side in run metres and line breaks. Jason Saab got Manly off to the perfect start after Haumole Olakau’atu picked up a loose ball, sprinted 50 metres, and then offloaded to Saab. Then, just before half-time, Saab scored again.

Sharks Creep Past Storm
Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks 31-26 Melbourne Storm
The Sharkies were on absolute fire in the first half. They racked up 4 tries against a very strong Melbourne side. However, the Storm refused to go away and scored 2 quick tries in the second half. However, Daniel Atkinson’s try in the 52nd minute and 5 conversions from Nicho Hynes proved the difference.
Dragons Roast Broncos
Brisbane Broncos 26-30 St. George Illawarra Dragons
Brisbane’s premiership dreams are disappearing after another tough loss at Suncorp. The Broncos looked strong in the first half as Gehamat Shibasaki and Ezra Mam scored. However, the Dragons found their second wind after the break and scored 4 tries to break the hearts of the local fans. Clint Gutherson played extremely well, scoring a try and running for 233 metres.
Raiders Too Good For Titans
Canberra Raiders 40-24 Gold Coast Titans
The Raiders are unstoppable at home. Good luck to any team that has to play them in Canberra during the finals. Despite Jojo Fifita scoring the game’s first try for the Titans, after that, it was all Raiders. Canberra went on a try frenzy, scoring on average every 10 minutes, finishing with 40 points.
Rabbitohs Run Away From Tigers
South Sydney Rabbitohs 22-12 Wests Tigers
The Bunnies were in cruise control after scoring an early try. Things only got better between when Lachlan Galvin got sent off and Euan Aitken scored again. However, Apisai Koroisau single-handedly kept the Tigers alive with 2 tries. Unfortunately, for Benji Marshall’s side, the comeback came a little too late, and Jai Arrow delivered the killer blow with a try with 2 minutes to go.
