Here are the latest happenings in the NRL Telstra Premiership at the end of round 15.

Sharks Maul Dragons

Cronulla Sutherland Sharks 30-18 St. George Illawarra Dragons

The Battle of Shire lived up to the hype as the Dragons came out on fire, scoring 3 early tries and leading the game 18-6 at halftime. However, the second half was dominated by the Sharks, as Cronulla racked up 4 unanswered tries, including a double from Sione Katoa. Nico Hynes had a strong game with the boot, kicking 4 conversions and a penalty goal.

Titans Upset Sea Eagles

Gold Coast Titans 28-8 Manly Warringah Sea Eagles

No one, including us, predicted the Titans to absolutely demolish the Sea Eagles at Cbus Super Stadium. The Titans, who are wallowing at the bottom of the ladder, were expected to roll over against Manly, but a double from Alofiana Khan-Pereira in the first 20 minutes had the Sea Eagles immediately on the back foot.

Jayden Campbell was everywhere. The young superstar bagged a try, ran over 100 metres, broke 5 tackles, got a try assist, and kicked 4 conversions. You definitely want him in your fantasy side!

Roosters Just Hold Off Knights

Newcastle Knights 8-12 Sydney Roosters

In a very low-scoring game that only saw 3 total tries, the Roosters snuck past the Knights. Apart from an early try from Kyle McCarthy in the 3rd minute, both sides struggled to get any attack going. It wasn’t until the 60th minute that Salesi Foketi scored the game’s next try. Then Siuia Wong crashed over the line 10 minutes later to break the local fans’ hearts.

The Knights will feel like they blew this game after dominating the possession, running for over 200 metres more than the Chooks, and leading for the majority of the match! Wong was the standout player, with over 50 tackles and 130 run metres.

Dolphins Thump Cowboys

North Queensland Cowboys 4-58 The Dolphins

The Cowboys were never in this one. Even though Felise Kaufusi was sent off in the 11th minute, it didn’t affect the Dolphins a smidge, as Jack Bostock scored a double and Oryn Keeley also crossed the line before the Cowboys got on the board.

Murray Taulagi scored North Queensland’s first and only try in the 26th minute. Then, for the rest of the match, the local fans had to watch as a bloodbath took place on the pitch. The Dolphins scored another 7 tries, and Jamayne Isaako couldn’t miss, slotting every conversion. Todd Payten is going to have some harsh words for the boys at training this week!

Bulldogs Get the Job Done Against Rabbitohs

South Sydney Rabbitohs 18-24 Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs

What a game! This historic rivalry lived up to the hype as the Doggies just managed to hold off a rampaging Rabbitohs. The Bulldogs struck first thanks to some lovely ball handling from Toby Sexton. A few minutes later, Canterbury spun it wide and found Marcelo Montoya in the corner.

The Doggies looked to be in cruise control after Connor Tracey scored their 3rd try. However, the Bunnies then went on their own try-scoring spree, crossing the line 3 times in the second half. Unfortunately, they left their comeback a little too late. If there were another 10 minutes, the Rabbitohs might have won!
