Here are the latest upcoming previews and predictions for Round 17 in the NRL Telstra Premiership.

Panthers vs Bulldogs

Betting Tip: Bulldogs to win

The Panthers are coming off a very strong performance against the Warriors in New Zealand. However, the Bulldogs’ defence is just too strong. Penrith will struggle to find scoring opportunities, and they still haven’t fixed their tackling issues.

Sea Eagles vs Tigers

The Tigers have lost three in a row, and now they have to front up against Manly at Brookvale. To make matters worse, the Sea Eagles will be fresh as a daisy after coming off a bye. Manly could easily win this one by 15+ points!

Knights vs Raiders

Amazingly, the Knights have a 2-5 record when playing in Newcastle this season, so don’t expect the local fans to help. The Knights just don’t have enough points in them to compete with the Raiders, who rack up nearly 28 points a game. Canberra is also in fine form, riding a 4-game winning streak. It’ll take a stronger team than Newcastle to snap the Raiders’ streak.

Broncos vs Warriors

Betting Tip: Broncos to win

The momentum is in the Broncos’ favour after they’ve won 2 in a row and beat the Sharks last week. On the flip side, the Warriors didn’t look too crash hot against the Panthers in Auckland. The Warriors, who historically struggle to win in Australia, are in for a shock when they run out at Suncorp. A confident Broncos side can pierce any club’s defensive score line and rack up tries in bunches.

Dragons vs Eels

Betting Tip: Dragons to win

The Dragons and Eels are having lacklustre seasons. Both teams are more than capable of getting the win. However, the Eels will struggle without their star playmaker, Mitchell Moses, who is out for 6 weeks with a calf injury he picked up during Origin training camp.

Expect a high-scoring match with both teams scoring over 20 points, but eventually, the Dragons, with their superior passing and dummy half runs, will cause too many issues for the Eels, especially up the middle of the field.

Dolphins vs Rabbitohs

Betting Tip: Rabbitohs to win

The Rabbitohs played incredibly well last week against the Storm despite losing in Golden Point. This is a must-win game for the Bunnies if they want to remain in touch with the top 8.

The Rabbitohs have the backline to run circles around the Dolphins; they just need to reduce their missed tackles. If South Sydney gets off to a good start, they should be able to secure the win.

Storm vs Sharks

Betting Tip: Storm to win

The Storm are scoring machines this season and lead the NRL in total number of tries scored and points. Then you throw in home-ground advantage, and Craig Bellamy’s side is going to be tough to beat. In fact, the Storm have only lost once this season down in Melbourne!

Titans vs Cowboys

Both Queensland sides have struggled this season and are contenders for the wooden spoon. The Roosters broke the Cowboys last week, and we’re predicting that performance to hang over North Queensland’s head for a while. Expect a lot of missed tackles and tries in this game as both teams concede a lot of points!
