Here are the latest happenings in the NRL Telstra Premiership at the end of round 4.

Rabbitohs Shock Panthers

South Sydney Rabbitohs 28-18 Penrith Panthers

The Wayne Bennett magic was in full effect on Thursday night as the Rabbitohs handed the Panthers their third loss in a row. The Rabbitohs absolutely pumped Penrith in the first half, scoring five tries, and went into the sheds up 28-0. The Panthers tried to claw their way back, scoring three unanswered tries, but their comeback was too little, too late.

Titans Get the W in Sydney Against Roosters

Sydney Roosters 12-30 Gold Coast Titans

The Titans aren’t known for playing well in Sydney, but they played the second half of their life, scoring four tries in 17 minutes in the second half to leave Roosters’ fans heartbroken. The Chooks went absolutely missing in the first half as Jayden Campbell dictated the game with a try and five goals.

Broncos Win the Battle of Queensland Against Dolphins

The Dolphins 12-20 Brisbane Broncos

The Broncos cemented themselves as the best team in the Sunshine State with a solid win over the Dolphins. They completed 89% of their sets of sixes, and Gehamat Shibasaki was on fire, crashing over the line for two tries, including one in the 55th minute, which sealed the game for Brisbane.

Dragons BBQ Storm in Kogarah

St. George Illawarra Dragons 14-8 Melbourne Storm

This was a round of upsets as the Dragons downed the minor premiers in a very close and wet battle at Jubilee Stadium. Valentine Holmes almost single-handedly won the game for the Dragons, scoring 10 of their 14 points. The Storm didn’t look like the same side without Jahrome Hughes. Melbourne were also missing Nick Meaney and Cameron Munster.

Cowboys Lasso Raiders

North Queensland Cowboys 30-20 Canberra Raiders

The Raiders have been playing some great footy this season, but it was always going to be a tough task to beat the Cowboys in Townsville. Joseph Tapine got the Raiders off to a fantastic start, but then the Cowboys scored four in a row. Scott Drinkwater’s boot ultimately prevented the Raiders from turning the tide of the match.

Bulldogs Chomp on Sharks

Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks 6-20 Canterbury Bulldogs

We were expecting a close match, but the Doggies had other ideas. Apart from a converted try courtesy of Kayal Iro in the 31st minute, Canterbury dominated the game with two tries in the first half and then another two in the second. It looks like the Bulldogs are a legit top-four contender this year.

Sea Eagles Too Good For Eels

Manly Sea Eagles 26-12 Parramatta Eels

The Eels actually put up a good fight in this one, but against Manly’s deadly attack and at Brookvale, Parramatta never stood a chance. The Sea Eagles were up 12 at half-time, thanks to tries from Jason Saab and Lehi Hopoate. Amazingly, the second half was a draw with two tries apiece, but the Eels have a long way to go if they want to challenge for a top 8 spot.

Warriors Win On The Road Against Tigers

West Tigers 24-26 New Zealand Warriors

This game was an absolute thriller. The Tigers and Warriors traded tries throughout the entire match, and both kickers were perfect. Leka Halasima equalised the game in the 69th minute after an amazing run down the sideline before stepping two players. Then Luke Metcalf sealed the deal with a penalty goal a few minutes later!
