PSG vs Bayern Munich Tips

Tie recap: PSG 6-5 Bayern Munich on aggregate (5-4, 1-1)

Match of the decade? Quite possibly. The Parc des Princes hosted a nine-goal Champions League classic that swung at least four times before PSG finally held on for a one-goal advantage to take to Munich. Both sides will look back on this and wonder how they let it slip — and how they nearly stole it.

Bayern struck first through a Harry Kane penalty in the 17th minute after Marquinhos was booked for a foul in the box, and the visitors looked in complete control early on. PSG, though, had two answers ready: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia levelled in the 24th minute (assisted by Désiré Doué), and João Neves made it 2-1 in the 33rd from an Ousmane Dembélé pull-back. Michael Olise — back at the Parc des Princes — pegged it back to 2-2 in the 41st with an assist from Aleksandar Pavlović, before Dembélé converted a penalty deep in first-half stoppage time (45+5) following a VAR review. PSG took a 3-2 lead and a 1.64-1.28 xG edge into the break.

The second half started with Vincent Kompany rolling the dice — Konrad Laimer on for Alphonso Davies at the break — but PSG twisted the knife. Kvaratskhelia bagged his second in the 56th (Achraf Hakimi the architect), and two minutes later Dembélé made it 5-2 from a Doué through-ball. Game over? Not even close.

Bayern refused to die. Dayot Upamecano headed home a Joshua Kimmich corner in the 65th, and three minutes later Luis Díaz finished a Kane assist to make it 5-4 with more than 20 minutes still to play. The Parc des Princes held its breath through a tense final stretch — Hakimi went off injured in the 88th and goalkeeper Matvey Safonov needed treatment in stoppage time — but PSG saw it out.

Key first-leg numbers:

  • Final score: PSG 5-4 Bayern Munich (HT 3-2)
  • First-half xG: PSG 1.64, Bayern 1.28
  • PSG scorers: Kvaratskhelia (24, 56), João Neves (33), Dembélé pen (45+5), Dembélé (58)
  • Bayern scorers: Kane pen (17), Olise (41), Upamecano (65), Luis Díaz (68)
  • Bookings: Marquinhos (12), Fabián Ruiz (77), Hakimi (80)
  • PSG injury concern: Hakimi off at 88’ — fitness for second leg in doubt

Stat nugget — what the underlying numbers say: Bayern actually edged the xG (1.20 vs PSG’s 0.73) and the big-chances count (5 vs PSG’s 1) despite losing. Bayern hit 8 of 10 shots on target; PSG converted 5 from 12. The takeaway for the second leg: Bayern were the better of the two teams on chance creation and should be pricier than the scoreline implies. PSG’s 1-goal aggregate lead is fragile.

Second leg: Bayern Munich 1-1 PSG (Allianz Arena, 6 May 2026)

The Allianz second leg was a much calmer affair than the Parc des Princes shootout. Ousmane Dembélé struck inside the third minute to give PSG an immediate away cushion and turn the aggregate to 6-4, and the holders controlled the rest of the night with a defensive composure they rarely showed in Paris. Harry Kane’s 94th-minute equaliser was a late consolation for Bayern but never going to be enough. PSG advance 6-5 on aggregate and head to Budapest to defend their crown — the first back-to-back finalists since the new format era began.

The “Bayern were better on the underlying numbers” stat nugget from the first leg held — Bayern out-shot and out-chanced PSG across both legs — but PSG’s ruthlessness in front of goal carried them through. Final: Saturday 30 May 2026 at the Puskás Aréna, Budapest, against Arsenal.

PSG carry a slim 5-4 lead to the Allianz Arena. Away goals are no longer a tiebreaker in the Champions League, so this is effectively a one-goal advantage — Bayern need to win 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 etc., or force extra time with a one-goal win after a tight scoreline. With Kane, Olise, Díaz and Musiala all capable of producing in Munich, this tie is far from settled. Our second-leg tips will be updated below before kick-off on 6 May.

First leg tip review: PSG to win at the Parc des Princes

This is a rivalry that has produced some of the best Champions League ties in recent memory. These two met in the 2020 final (Bayern won 1-0), the 2020-21 quarter-finals (Bayern advanced on away goals after a 3-3 aggregate), and the 2022-23 Round of 16 (Bayern won 3-0 on aggregate). Bayern also won in the league phase this season, beating PSG 2-1 in Paris back in November.

The head-to-head record heavily favours Bayern (7 wins to 3 from the last 10 meetings), but this PSG side looks different. They demolished Liverpool 4-0 on aggregate in the quarters without conceding a single goal across 180 minutes, showing the kind of defensive solidity that has been absent in previous European campaigns. Dembele has been electric, and the home atmosphere at the Parc des Princes could be the difference in the first leg.

Bayern, meanwhile, arrive on a high after their extraordinary 6-4 aggregate demolition of Real Madrid. Harry Kane, Luis Diaz and Michael Olise all found the net in a thrilling second leg, and this squad has genuine belief they can lift the trophy in Budapest. The concern for Bayern is whether they can maintain that intensity away from home against a well-drilled PSG.

We are backing PSG to edge the first leg at home. The Parc des Princes has been a fortress in this competition, and Bayern have historically struggled in Paris (losing 3-0 in 2017 and 3-2 in 2021). bet365 have PSG at $2.30, Bayern at $2.80, and the draw at $3.80. Both teams to score is priced at just $1.40, reflecting the attacking quality on both sides, while over 2.5 goals sits at $1.44.

PSG vs Bayern Munich Team News

Bayern Munich are without Serge Gnabry and Lennart Karl for the trip to Paris but are reportedly boosted by the return of three key players, giving Vincent Kompany strong attacking options off the bench. PSG appear to have no fresh injury concerns after their dominant quarter-final win over Liverpool — Ousmane Dembélé in particular looks in scoring form.

PSG vs Bayern Munich Prediction

Expect goals. Both teams to score and over 2.5 goals look near-certainties given the firepower on both sides. PSG have home advantage in the first leg and the momentum from their dominant quarter-final showing. We are tipping PSG to win the first leg 2-1, with Bayern taking enough away from Paris to make the second leg at the Allianz Arena a genuine contest.

Atletico Madrid vs Arsenal Tips

First leg recap: Atletico Madrid 1-1 Arsenal

A tactically gripping, VAR-soaked 1-1 draw at the Metropolitano keeps this tie wide open heading to the Emirates. Arsenal will be the happier of the two — they’ll back themselves at home and they came within a VAR review of leaving Madrid with a lead.

Viktor Gyökeres struck just before half-time (44′), finishing from the spot after being brought down in the box to give Arsenal the lead. Atletico responded after the break — Julián Álvarez levelled from 12 yards in the 56th after a period of pressure, restoring parity and the Metropolitano roar. With 13 minutes to play, Arsenal looked to have won a third penalty when Eberechi Eze went down inside the area, but a VAR intervention saw the call overturned. Both sides went close in the closing stretch but neither could find a winner.

Key first-leg numbers:

  • Final score: Atletico Madrid 1-1 Arsenal (HT 0-1)
  • Arsenal scorer: Gyökeres pen (44′)
  • Atletico scorer: Álvarez pen (56′)
  • Key incident: VAR-overturned third penalty (Eze, 77′)
  • Aggregate going into 2nd leg: 1-1 — away goals no longer apply, so Arsenal’s home leg next Tuesday is the decider

Stat nugget — what the underlying numbers say: Atletico were the better side at home — 1.97 xG vs Arsenal’s 1.11, 18 shots to 11, 2 big chances to 1, and they made 21 tackles to Arsenal’s 8 in classic Simeone fashion. Both goals came from the spot, but Atletico generated more open-play chances. Arsenal’s home leg looms as decisive — but Atletico carry away a strong performance, not just a scoreline.

Our pre-match call was a 1-1 draw or 0-0 with under 2.5 goals — the scoreline split the difference and the under 2.5 cashed at $1.80. Arsenal head back to north London with a strong platform: home advantage, a clean shape against Atletico’s counter-attacks, and a Gunners side that has dropped just one home European match this season.

Second leg recap: Arsenal 1-0 Atletico Madrid (2-1 aggregate)

The Emirates was electric and the result was historic — Arsenal are through to their first Champions League final in 20 years. Bukayo Saka bundled home from four yards late in the first half after Jan Oblak parried a Leandro Trossard drive following a clever Viktor Gyökeres run, and the Gunners held on for a 1-0 win and a 2-1 aggregate. Atletico chased the equaliser through the second half but couldn’t break down a disciplined Arsenal defence. Mikel Arteta’s side now wait on Bayern v PSG to see who they meet in Budapest on 30 May 2026.

The pre-match read held up: Arsenal to win the second leg cashed at $1.70-$1.85, and the underlying numbers from Madrid (Atletico 1.97 xG to Arsenal’s 1.11) didn’t carry through to a second-leg comeback. Saka’s late first-half goal was the difference and a deserved one for the Premier League side that has dropped just one home European match all season.

Arsenal to win or draw the first leg at the Metropolitano

This tie pits two of the best defensive sides left in the competition against each other. Atletico’s route to the semi-finals was pure Simeone: a 2-0 first-leg win at Camp Nou followed by a disciplined 1-2 second-leg defeat that still saw them through 3-2 on aggregate. Arsenal, meanwhile, barely conceded a chance across their two legs against Sporting CP, winning 1-0 on aggregate with clean sheets in both matches.

The most recent meeting between these two was in the Champions League league phase in October 2025, where Arsenal thrashed Atletico 4-0 at the Emirates. That result will give the Gunners enormous confidence, but the Metropolitano is a very different beast. Atletico have not lost a European home match all season, and Simeone will set up to frustrate Arteta’s side.

The historical record is tight: three meetings, one win each and a draw. Atletico won the only previous knockout tie between the two (2018 Europa League semi-final, 2-1 on aggregate). Arsenal have the stronger squad on paper, but this tie will be decided by tactical discipline rather than individual brilliance.

bet365 have this finely balanced: Atletico $2.70, Arsenal $2.63, Draw $3.30. Both teams to score is priced at $1.75, while over 2.5 goals sits at a more cautious $2.00, reflecting the defensive nature of both sides. Under 2.5 goals at $1.80 is interesting value given how these teams defend.

Atletico Madrid vs Arsenal Prediction

This has low-scoring first leg written all over it. Simeone will set up to contain Arsenal at the Metropolitano, and Arteta will be happy to take a clean sheet back to the Emirates for the second leg. We are tipping a 1-1 draw or a 0-0 stalemate, with Arsenal’s away discipline keeping them in the tie for a decisive second leg in north London. Under 2.5 goals at $1.80 is our best value pick for this match.

Champions League Semi-Final Multi Tips

For punters looking to combine selections across the Champions League semi-finals, here are our suggested picks. These work well as a multi or you can build your own same game multi for individual matches.

Multi tips (2nd legs) — final settle:

  • Arsenal to win vs Atletico Madrid — ✅ landed at $1.70-$1.85 (1-0, Saka).
  • Both teams to score in Bayern vs PSG — ✅ landed (1-1, Dembélé 3′, Kane 90+4′).

Both legs of the multi cashed — combined odds of approximately $2.45 banked. The Arsenal pick was the safer of the two given home advantage and the abolition of away goals; the BTTS leg was the higher-conviction value play given the nine-goal first leg and the quality of attacks on both sides. Final: Arsenal v PSG, Puskás Aréna, Budapest, Saturday 30 May 2026.
