St Kilda vs Melbourne Demons Preview
St Kilda proved they can back up their efforts from last season after they won a tight contest against the Giants.
The Saints were resilient in their season opener despite having at least seven of their best 22 missing on the day.
Although two of those, Max King and Zak Jones, will return for this week’s clash against the Dee’s.
Brett Ratten’s top-four ambitions will need his side to win matches like these, especially against teams pushing for a finals position.
Meanwhile, the Demons got the job done against the lacklustre Dockers at the MCG.
Although unconvincing at times, Simon Goodwin’s side was too strong for the Dockers, with the back six holding strong when needed.
Steven May and Jake Lever were fantastic all day, intercepting everything that came their way. The pair finished with 12 intercepts between them.
Max Gawn dominating in the ruck will go a long way for Melbourne claiming the four points due to the absence of Rowan Marshall and Paddy Ryder.
This contest will not disappoint, and I believe it will be a close contest with the Saints claiming the four points.
Saints vs Demons Team News
The Saints will bolster their forward stocks with the return of Max King after a freakish concussion incident. Zak Jones will also return after recovering from a hamstring injury.
The Demons will also have two handy inclusions with Jack Viney and Jake Melksham returning from injury.
The two sides last met in Round 14 last season which saw the Demons defeat the Saints by three points.
