North Melbourne vs Port Adelaide Preview
North Melbourne head in as underdogs and have not chalked up a win since Round 2. The Kangaroos burst out of the blocks early this season under their new coach, Alistair Clarkson, with two wins but it has been all downhill since then.
The Kangas booted just 34 points last weekend, the second lowest total that the premiership winning coach has overseen since he started back in 2005. That came against St Kilda and it was a 30 point loss. Jack Ziebell, Harry Sheezel and Liam Shiels combined for 94 disposals in the defeat but the Roos will need more winners this weekend.
They face a resurgent Port Adelaide side that have won their past five games. Last weekend, the Power overcame a slow start to edge out Essendon by five points. That margin might have been more were it not for some inaccuracy in front of goal. Connor Rozee and Zak Butters were among the best for Port, combining for 57 disposals.
The Power venture down to Hobart and were 52 point winners in the corresponding fixture last year in the capital of Tasmania. Ollie Wines dominated with 35 disposal and five goals. This encounter looks set to be a similar margin, unless Alistair Clarkson can find a way to solve the Roos ordinary form of late.
