BBL 2026-27 key dates

The season opens on 12 December 2026 with a first-of-its-kind fixture at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, India, between the Perth Scorchers and the Melbourne Renegades, before the competition returns to its usual Australian home venues. The final is scheduled for 26 January 2027.

The Perth Scorchers are the reigning champions after beating the Sydney Sixers by six wickets in the BBL|15 final in January 2026, a result that secured their sixth title and confirmed them as the most successful club in Big Bash history. They begin the new season as one of the favourites to go back to back.
