Get ready for all the action with our in-depth previews and predictions for Round 15 of the AFL season.
Fremantle vs Essendon
Dockers to win by 1-39 points
Fremantle and Essendon open Round 15 with a Thursday night clash at Optus Stadium. The Dockers will view this as the perfect opportunity to consolidate their place in the top eight, taking on a Bombers side that has lost three on the bounce and hasn’t beaten Freo since 2021.
We’re tipping Fremantle to take care of business at home and all but extinguish Essendon’s fading finals hopes.
Geelong vs Brisbane
Cats to win and total points under 175.5
All eyes will be on GMHBA Stadium on Friday night as second hosts third in a heavyweight clash between Geelong and Brisbane. It’s been a rocky patch for the reigning premiers, with the Lions winning just two of their last six and struggling to shake a mini-slump that’s edging toward a full-blown crisis. By contrast, Geelong are flying — they’ve won five on the bounce and look every bit a serious 2025 flag contender.
Despite Brisbane winning this fixture earlier in the season, we’re backing the Cats to make it six straight against an out-of-sorts Lions outfit in what could be a low-scoring grind.
Carlton vs North Melbourne
Blues to win by 1-39 points
Carlton will be looking to repeat their Round 6 performance against North Melbourne when they thumped the Kangaroos by 82 points. The signs are promising for the Blues heading into Saturday’s clash at the MCG, having secured back-to-back wins for the first time since Round 7 after beating West Coast last week. However, the Roos are a much-improved side since that heavy defeat. Aside from a blowout loss to ladder leaders Collingwood, they haven’t lost a game by more than six points since the start of May.
We’re backing Carlton to get the job done — but expect a far more competitive contest this time around.
Port Adelaide vs Sydney
Port to win with -9.5 handicap
Sydney head to Adelaide Oval on Saturday aiming to avoid a season sweep after falling to Port Adelaide by eight points back in Round 6. While the Swans came off a bye in Round 14, the Power were keeping their season alive with a statement win over Melbourne — a result that could reignite their finals push.
We’re backing a resurgent Port Adelaide, buoyed by recent results and belief, to get the job done again, this time by a more convincing margin.
Collingwood vs St Kilda
Pies to win by 40+ points
It’s back to business for Collingwood after their Round 14 bye as they face St Kilda at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night. The Pies have won five straight and should have too much firepower for a struggling Saints outfit that’s managed just one win from their last five.
We’re backing the ladder leaders to blow St Kilda away and make it six on the bounce.
GWS Giants vs Gold Coast
Giants to win by 1-39 points
Sunday’s action kicks off with a top-eight clash as seventh-placed GWS host sixth-placed Gold Coast at ENGIE Stadium. The Giants tend to rise to the occasion in big games, having knocked off both Geelong and Brisbane over the past month, and they’ll fancy themselves again on home turf.
We’re backing GWS to edge a high-quality contest against a good Suns outfit.
Western Bulldogs vs Richmond
Bulldogs to win by 40+ points
Round 15 wraps up with what should be a one-sided affair as the Bulldogs host Richmond at Marvel Stadium. With a 3–10 record, the Tigers have shown little fight this season, and to make matters worse, they haven’t beaten the Dogs since 2022.
We’re backing the Bulldogs to overpower Richmond and continue their push for a top-eight spot.
