AFL Premiership Round 6 Predictions

Brisbane Lions vs Collingwood

Brisbane Lions to win by 1-39 points

Brisbane will host Collingwood at the Gabba on Thursday night with the reigning premiers aiming to preserve their unbeaten start to the 2025 season. We believe they’ll get the job done, but expect a hard-fought arm wrestle against a streetwise Magpies outfit with flag ambitions of their own.

North Melbourne vs Carlton

The Blues to Win -16.5 handicap

North Melbourne and Carlton will go head-to-head at Marvel Stadium on Good Friday with both sides entering the clash at 1-4. However, we expect the Blues to build on their first win of the season during Gather Round and cover the -16.5 line against a Roos side still searching for consistency.

West Coast Eagles vs Essendon

Essendon Bombers to win by 1-39 points

West Coast and Essendon will face off at Optus Stadium in the second Good Friday fixture. The Eagles remain winless and are fast becoming favourites for the wooden spoon while the Bombers have caught a handy tailwind of late, winning back-to-back games. Expect Essendon to make it three in a row against an embattled West Coast outfit.

Melbourne vs Fremantle Dockers

Freemantle Dockers to win and total points under 171.5

A winless Melbourne will be desperate to get off the mark when they host Fremantle at the MCG on Saturday afternoon, but they will run into a Dockers side having notched three straight wins courtesy of a hard-running midfield and improved forward efficiency. We expect Fremantle to make it four on the trot in a low-scoring contest.

Adelaide vs GWS Giants

Giants to win by 1-39 points

Adelaide will be out to halt a mini slump when they host the Giants at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday evening. The Crows have dropped their last two while GWS continued their strong start to 2025 with a solid Gather Round win to move to 4–1. With form and confidence on their side, we’re expecting the Giants to win but the Crows at home are likely to keep the margin of defeat within 40 points.

Richmond vs Gold Coast SUNS

Suns to win by 40+ points

Richmond will host Gold Coast at the MCG on Saturday night on the back of four straight losses. The Suns, by contrast, remain unbeaten and will see this clash as the perfect chance to make it five from five. Expect the Suns to rise under the lights and win big against a struggling Tigers outfit.

Sydney Swans vs Port Adelaide

The Power to win +14.5 handicap

Sydney and Port Adelaide will go head-to-head in Round 6 at the SCG with both sides sitting at 2–3. This shapes up as one of the tightest contests of the Easter weekend, but we’re backing the Power, buoyed by a statement win over flag favourites Hawthorn during Gather Round, to edge a close one and cover the line.

Western Bulldogs vs St Kilda

Saints to win by 1-39 points

The Bulldogs will host St Kilda at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night in a clash between two sides trying to build momentum. The Saints hold a slight edge at 3–2, while the Dogs sit at 2–3, having struggled against teams higher up the ladder. We’re tipping the Saints to steady the ship and return to winning ways with a hard-fought win on the road.

Geelong vs Hawthorn

Cats to win -0.5 handicap

Geelong and Hawthorn close out the Easter weekend with a big clash at GMHBA Stadium on Monday. The Hawks were upset by Port Adelaide during Gather Round, while the Cats are high on confidence after back-to-back wins. Even in their defeats, Geelong haven’t lost by more than ten points this season so we’re backing them to get the job done in a tight contest.
