NFL Super Bowl Odds | Outright Betting Markets Explained

NFL Super Bowl outright betting odds

Super Bowl outright odds explained for the 2026 NFL season, which runs from 9 September through to Super Bowl LXI in February 2027, plus the Rams against the 49ers at the MCG in Round 1.

NFL Super Bowl Odds

Super Bowl outright odds are the longest-running market in American football: you back a team to win the championship and hold the bet for months. The 2026 NFL season runs from 9 September through to Super Bowl LXI in February 2027, and Australian bookmakers price all 32 teams from before Week 1 until the final whistle.

How Super Bowl Outright Betting Works

The market: Every one of the 32 teams carries a price to win the Super Bowl. Favourites sit at short odds, rebuilding teams stretch into the hundreds. Prices move on results, injuries and roster moves all season.

Timing: The longest prices are available before Week 1, but that is also when you know least. Prices after the trade deadline are shorter and far better informed, which is the trade-off with any futures bet.

Each way is not a thing here: There is no place market on the Super Bowl. If you want a hedge, conference winner and division winner markets are the sensible partial cover, because a team can return on those without going all the way.

Watch the hold: Money is tied up for five months. A Super Bowl outright only makes sense at a price you genuinely think is wrong, not as a season-long novelty.

The 2026 Season and the Melbourne Game

This is the first NFL season with a regular-season game in Australia. The Los Angeles Rams host the San Francisco 49ers at the MCG at 10:35am AEST on Friday 11 September, in Round 1, and the NFL moved its own season opener off its usual Thursday slot to make room for it. Both sides finished 12-5 last season, so it is a live NFC West fixture rather than an exhibition. See our NFL in Melbourne preview for the markets and our best bets.

Week by week through the season, our picks and previews are on the NFL week-by-week predictions page, and the four-leg multi is on our NFL same game multi tips.

Form through the season is the best guide to a futures price: the NFL ladder shows who is actually winning, the power rankings show by how much, and the NFL schedule shows what is still to come. For match-day angles on the game itself see our Super Bowl tips and preview.

Other NFL Futures Markets

  • Conference winner (AFC and NFC) — shorter than the Super Bowl and gets you to the final game
  • Division winner — eight small markets, usually the best-priced way into a team you fancy
  • Regular season wins — over or under a team’s win total, judged on schedule rather than talent
  • Most Valuable Player — historically a quarterback market, and usually the quarterback of a top seed
  • To make the playoffs — a straight yes or no, and the mildest of the futures markets

Where to Bet on the Super Bowl in Australia

Outright prices differ more between bookmakers than head-to-head lines do, so it pays to compare before committing for a whole season. See our best Australian betting sites guide, or the newest betting sites.

Super Bowl Odds FAQs

When is Super Bowl LXI?

February 2027, at the end of the 2026 NFL season. The regular season starts on 9 September 2026.

When can I bet on the Super Bowl?

All year. Australian bookmakers price all 32 teams before Week 1 and keep the market open through the playoffs. The longest prices are pre-season, but the best-informed ones come after the trade deadline.

Is there a place market on the Super Bowl?

No. Super Bowl betting is win-only. If you want partial cover, the conference winner and division winner markets pay out without a team going all the way.

Is the NFL Melbourne game a real season game?

Yes. The Rams play the 49ers at the MCG on Friday 11 September 2026 in Round 1, and it counts fully towards both records. It is the first NFL regular-season game ever played in Australia.
