Adelaide vs Geelong Preview and Prediction

Adelaide are set for another tough season after being awarded the wooden spoon in 2020.

The Crows were poor in their practice match against cross-town rivals Port Adelaide, losing by 71 points with their pressure throughout the match being nowhere near good enough.

Matthew Nicks will have to plan his defence carefully and try to force an outnumbered contest in the defensive 50 on the two Coleman medallists, Tom Hawkins and Jeremy Cameron.

Meanwhile, the Cats will look to start the season on a high note with a large victory to get their Premiership campaign off to the right start. The Cats are the second-favourites for the flag behind reigning premiers Richmond.

Geelong arguably was the best side in the trade period this season and despite playing poorly against the Bombers, they still got the win they were searching for. Although they will be shaky at times this week, it’s still a new-look side that needs to gel together.

Gary Rohan was the best forward for the Cats in the match against Essendon, and his speed will be a dangerous threat against a fragile Crows defence.

I believe the Cats will cruise to a comfortable victory.

Crows vs Cats Team News

The Crows will most likely have Matt Crouch available for Saturday. However, Tom Doedee will have to pass some fitness tests to be available for selection.

Mitch Duncan has been ruled out for the upcoming match. In better news, Luke Dahlhaus and Rhys Stanley are ready to run out if selected.

The two sides last met in Round 13 last season which saw Geelong defeat the Crows.
