Essendon vs Adelaide Preview

The Bombers started off well but eventually lost the match against the Cats by 41 points.

Ben Rutten’s game plan seemed to be going to perfection at the end of the first term, after kicking the first four goals of the game without giving Geelong a sniff.

However, a deplorable second term which saw Geelong kick eight goals in wet conditions saw the game fall out of their grasp, with simple disposal skills and ball movement letting them down.

The Dons have won three of their four games at Marvel Stadium this season, with their only loss coming by one point against the Hawks in Round 1.

Meanwhile, the Crows were humbled by the Lions, which has all but ruined their finals hopes.

Although they tried their heart out, Brisbane proved too strong for the inconsistent Crows. Despite losing by 52 points, the constant pressure was a particular highlight.

An injury to former captain Taylor Walker didn’t help in Adelaide’s cause to mount a comeback. A nasty collision saw him suffer a neck strain, with everyone keeping a keen eye on him to see if he will be available. He loves playing against the Bombers, kicking 27 goals in 10 matches.

Although Essendon have only won one of their last four matches, I believe they’ll win this match in a high scoring contest.

Bombers vs Crows Team News

Nik Cox looks set to be rested after a tiring performance against the Cats. With Matt Guelfi a possible inclusion. Dyson Heppell is also a confirmed exclusion with a thumb injury.

All eyes will be on Tex Walker after suffering a neck strain last week. Tom Lynch will return after a strong performance in the SANFL after recovering from his toe injury.

The two sides last met in Round 8 last season, which saw the Bombers win by three points.
