Carlton vs Port Adelaide Preview

Carlton fell to the first defeat of their optimistic 2022 campaign against the Gold Coast Suns in a five-goal loss, which saw skipper Patrick Cripps go down with a hamstring injury.

Luckily for Michael Voss, it only seems to be a one-week injury that will see the Brownlow medal contender miss Sunday afternoons match. It will be intriguing to see how the Blue Baggers bounce back following an unexpected loss.

Meanwhile, Port Adelaide remains the only winless side in the competition after their embarrassing 32-point defeat against the reigning premiers last time out.

The Blues weren’t the only side to see a big body midfielder injured in Round 4, with last season’s Brownlow medallist Ollie Wines suffering heart palpitations during the game against the Demons. After spending the night in hospital, the star midfielder is confident he will only be sidelined for a fortnight.

Both sides have key players out through injury, but it is too hard to ignore Port Adelaide’s horrid start to the season, and considering the Blue’s home ground advantage, they could take home the four points.
