St Kilda vs Carlton Preview

St Kilda take on Carlton in AFL Round 21 in a game that sees 5th take on 7th. The Saints advanced to that position last weekend after knocking over Hawthorn by 29 points.

Ross Lyon’s side burst out of the blocks with a nine-goal first term and were challenged at different stages but found plenty. Dan Butler did the damage with four majors, while Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera and Brad Crouch both had 30+ disposals.

Carlton were one of the talking points of the weekend after their impressive 17-point victory over their arch rivals, and the ladder leaders, Collingwood. Charlie Curnow booted six majors and holds that margin over Taylor Walker in the race for the Coleman Medal.

Michael Voss’s side have now won six games on the trot and are favourites for this encounter but will need to overcome a growing injury toll with key playmaker, Adam Cerra, the latest casualty.

However, St Kilda will also have a number of players out and with the presence of Curnow at one end and Jacob Weitering at the other, I expect the Blues to continue their streak on Sunday afternoon.
