Carlton vs Sydney Preview
Even though the ladder doesn’t suggest it, it was a big test for the Blues when they battled it out against the Giants, and they passed it with flying colours, securing a 30-point triumph.
Kicking a winnable score has been a problem for Carlton in recent seasons and without Coleman medallist Harry McKay, it threatened to be an issue. However, they booted over 100 points for the third successive match.
They face an even larger test against Sydney, who are breathing down their necks in fifth place and are coming off a comfortable 10-goal win against the Bombers in their last outing.
On most occasions, the team that gets on top in the midfield battle wins the match. However, the game could very well be won by the team that is better service off the half-back. Sam Docherty and Adam Saad will be crucial, along with Callum Mills and Jake Lloyd for the Swans.
All signs point to an entertaining and tight tussle between two teams fighting it out for top four spot. Although the Blues hold the home ground advantage, I believe John Longmire’s outfit could come away with the four points.
