Sydney are flying high on top of the AFL ladder through nine rounds of football with just the one loss to their name.

And they are now the premiership favourite a third of the way through season 2024 and have the Brownlow favourite in Isaac Heeney who is having a career best year.

They won their fifth consecutive games in round nine when they comfortably accounted for Fremantle in Perth and are full of confidence coming back to the SCG in this important clash with Carlton.

The Blues continue to prove there is a gap between their best and worst but sit seventh with a record of six wins and three losses through nine rounds.

They had the biggest scalp of their season so far when hanging on to a one-point win against Melbourne, a game they always let slip after having a commanding lead throughout the majority of the game.
