Collingwood vs Brisbane Preview

The 2023 Grand Finalists square off for the second time this season after Collingwood took out the Round 3 fixture by 20 points at the GABBA earlier in the season.

Plenty of water has flowed under the bridge since then and the Lions have risen up the ladder to sit in 5th spot on the ladder, while Collingwood are all but out of contention in 11th spot.

Brisbane will be out to bounce back after going down to GWS by 18 points in Round 22. That loss ended a run of nine straight wins and they held a 30-point lead earlier in the game before fading late.

It was a similar story for Collingwood with the Magpies squandering a 27-point margin in the final term before going down the ladder leaders, Sydney, by three points late in the game.

Nick Daicos and Josh Daicos both had 25+ disposals but the Magpies will need more from their forward with Bobby Hill the only player to register multiple goals.

Brisbane come into this with players in slightly better form and should be buoyed by the fact that they were winners the only time that they traveled to the MCG this season with that coming back in Round 6 over Melbourne. With plenty to play for, they should be able to account for their foes from last season.
