Richmond vs Collingwood Preview

The Tigers fell outside of the eight with their second loss on the trot against the Suns last time out.

Richmond was lacklustre throughout the match and uncharacteristically turned the ball over in dangerous positions. Damien Hardwick will be forced to make some changes after a poor two weeks.

Some of those changes can include some more small forwards to improve their pressure side of the game, Gold Coast laid more tackles despite having the majority of possession. Matthew Parker has impressed in the VFL since joining the side in the mid-season draft.

Meanwhile, the Magpies almost came from behind but fell just short against the Saints.

A disappointing Collingwood side only managed one goal in the first half, but a late fightback in the final term saw them come from 43 points down to only nine.

Robert Harvey is still yet to get a win as Collingwood head coach and will fancy his chances against the struggling Tigers. It is vital that they get first use of the ball out of the middle to eliminate the spare defender that the Tigers use so well.

Although Richmond has been poor in the previous two weeks, they typically rise to the occasion in these sorts of matches.

Tigers vs Magpies Team News

The Tigers will make a host of changes with Bachar Houli, Callum Coleman-Jones and Shane Edwards all suffering injuries last time out. Daniel Rioli, Matthew Parker, Sydney Stack and Toby Nankervis are the big-name inclusions.

The Magpies will miss Caleb Poulter and Josh Daicos for this tie. Whilst Callum Brown, Jack Ginnivan, Oliver Henry, Trey Ruscoe and Will Kelly have been named.

*Teams are yet to be reduced to 22, four omissions still need to be made from the eight-man bench.

The two sides last met in Round 2 last season, which resulted in a stalemate.
