Port Adelaide vs Collingwood Preview

The Power brushed off the Saints by 13 points to move back into the top four last time out.

Port Adelaide ended St Kilda’s winning streak in a workman-like performance. Ollie Wines and Karl Amon took the reins, collecting 62 disposals and three goals between them.

Ken Hinkley’s side will have the mental edge heading into this match, with his side winning the reverse fixture by one point earlier in the season. Both of these sides have had their off-field issues with each other this season, so you can expect a physical encounter.

Meanwhile, the Magpies fell 29 points short against traditional rivals, Carlton.

Collingwood started the better of the two sides and led by as much as four goals during the second quarter. However, a three-goal to nine second-half saw that lead become diminished.

They were let down by their leaders in the middle of the ground, losing the clearances by a margin of 14 despite the Blues not having Patrick Cripps and an experienced ruckman.

Port Adelaide has a very handsome record at home against sides that aren’t in the top eight, so you can expect a comfortable victory for Hinkley’s side on Friday night.

Power vs Magpies Team News

Port Adelaide came from the match relatively unscathed and will most likely make minimal to no changes.

The Magpies will be forced to make at least one change with Josh Thomas suffering a concussion. Brayden Sier should return to the side after a dominant performance against the Tigers in his last VFL outing.

The two sides last met in Round 10 this season, which saw the Power win by one point.
