Geelong take on the Fremantle Dockers in AFL Round 20 and the reigning premiers enjoy a golden opportunity to bounce back after going down to the Brisbane Lions by 11 points last weekend.

That margin probably flattered the Cats, who were smashed in the midfield and at the stoppages. Tom Stewart was one of a small handful of player that could hold their heads high and even had a rare stint in the middle of the ground.

Some positives for the Cats heading into this week is that they finished the game off well against Brisbane, while Fremantle have plenty of form concerns heading in.

The Dockers have now lost their past four matches and are effectively out of the finals race, languishing in 15th position on the ladder. They went down to the Sydney Swans last weekend by 29 points.

Lachie Schultz booted four goals, while Caleb Serong and Luke Jackson both played some excellent footy. But the Dockers will need to get off to a better start, particularly down at Geelong. Justin Longmuir’s side were victorious the last time they journeyed to the venue, back in Round 7 last year, but are nowhere near the level that saw them make the Semi Finals in 2022.
