Sydney vs Fremantle Preview

The Swans made it three wins on the trot with a triumph over cross-town rivals GWS.

Sydney showed great maturity after conceding six goals in the first quarter, almost being 40 points down late in the second term. However, a nine-goal to two second half saw them cruise to victory.

Lance Franklin is getting closer to the 1,000-goal milestone and only needs 19 goals in the rest of the season, he has a good history against Fremantle, and we expect him to have a big game on the weekend, considering Fremantle’s defensive injury concerns.

The Swans three consecutive wins has kept them in the race for an unlikely top-four finish after many predicted them to finish in the bottom half, with only five games remaining in the season.

Meanwhile, the Dockers were shambolic against the Cats at home, losing the match by 69 points.

Not only was it an embarrassing loss for Fremantle, only kicking three goals for the match in their seventh lowest ever score. It was a damaging percentage loss in terms of their final’s contention dropping out of the eight and losing almost 5%.

A large part of Justin Longmuir’s side strong form this season has been the rise of ruckman Sean Darcy. However, they will have to do it without him on Sunday after suffering a knee injury against Geelong.

Sydney heads into this match in very strong form and should be able to comfortably cruise past the Dockers on neutral territory on Sunday afternoon.

Swans vs Dockers Team News

Sydney have omitted Joel Amartey. Meanwhile they’ve named Hayden McLean, Lewis Taylor, Logan McDonald and Sam Reid in the extended inclusions.

The Dockers have three changes with Blake Acres, Rory Lobb and Sam Switkowski all out. Whilst Matt Taberner is the big inclusion.

*Teams are yet to be reduced to 22, four omissions still need to be made from the eight-man bench.

The two sides last met in Round 10 this season, which saw the Dockers win by two points.
