North Melbourne vs Geelong Preview

North Melbourne fell to their third successive defeat in an embarrassing 68-point traditional Good Friday defeat against the Western Bulldogs last time out. In that run they have also fallen to top four contenders Brisbane (108 points) and Sydney (11 points).

Although they are in the process of a rebuild, it is all about finding consistency in their game plan and performances. This has been frustrating for David Noble and supporters during that time and is time to prove themselves at their home away from home.

Meanwhile, the Cats fell to their second loss of the season in a shock Easter Monday defeat against arch-rivals Hawthorn by two goals, with Chris Scott’s side being made to rue for missed chances.

Chris Scott is fortunate enough to have two of the best tall forwards in the competition. Aaron Naughton had a field day against the Roos last week, so, you can expect both Tom Hawkins and Jeremy Cameron to kick a bag of goals between them if the conditions suit at Blundstone Arena.

Geelong have been the side to dominate recent history between the two sides, winning the previous eight meetings. It’s hard to see this result going any other way than a comfortable Geelong triumph on Sunday afternoon.

Roos vs Cats Stats

  • The home side has won seven of the last nine matches
  • Geelong have won the last eight meetings
  • Kangaroos have lost three matches on the trot
  • Geelong have won the only meeting between the two sides at Blundstone Arena (20 points)
