North Melbourne Kangaroos vs Gold Coast Suns Preview
Gold Coast put up a good fight in their 25-point loss to the Eagles in Western Australia.
The Suns were able to deal with the hostile environment taking a small lead in the final term, but despite their strong foundation, the experienced Eagles overrun them with repeat forward entries.
It was heartbreaking for footy fans when Matt Rowell hobbled off the ground early in the first quarter in his first match back from shoulder surgery, a big blow for Stuart Dew’s side.
Meanwhile, North Melbourne was put down to reality against a strong Power side at Marvel Stadium.
The Kangaroos started the match on the front foot, but the Power pulled away after an explosive second quarter. However, it was a good sign to see Luke Davies-Uniacke and Jaidyn Stephenson go to work successfully in the midfield for the first time.
It’s going to be a tough season for North Melbourne fans, but they must see some development from some young players under new management.
It’ll be a tough match on the road for the Kangaroos and I believe the young Sun’s outfit will get the job done on Saturday night.
North Melbourne vs Gold Coast Team News
The Suns will be without young star Matt Rowell after another long-term injury against West Coast, Ben Ainsworth will be touch and go.
New signing Aiden Corr will be a test to face the suns. However, Curtis Taylor and Luke McDonald are certainties to miss out.
The two sides last met in Round 14 last season which saw the Suns win by 63 points.
