Hawthorn vs Adelaide Preview

The Hawks despite showing positive signs in the first half, a disappointing second half saw them fall to a 50-point defeat.

The dominance of Max Gawn in the ruck proved too much in the last term for the Hawks. Despite Gawn’s dominance, the Hawks were still able to stalemate the clearances. However, they will need to do the same to be in the contest, although they are 16th for clearances this season.

The Hawks last played in Tasmania in 2019. They have a good recent record at the University of Tasmania Stadium, with six wins from their last eight matches.

Meanwhile, the Crows weren’t quite able to get the job done in an eventful match against the Dockers.

Despite holding an 11-point lead halfway in the last quarter, they ended up losing the match by two goals. Their efficiency let them down for the first time this season, going at 36.4%.

Adelaide would’ve taken a 3-2 record to start the season and keeps their hopes of an optimistic season alive. You can expect them to play a heavy handball type of game on a ground that promotes it. Paul Seedsman and Rory Laird are typically always involved in the link-up play.

Although the Hawks haven’t won a match since their opening match of the season against Essendon, I believe they could claim the four points against the Crows.

Hawks vs Crows Team News

Hawthorn will look to make a few changes, with Mitch Lewis available after suspension and Tyler Brockman fit, after being rested against the Demons.

The Crows may make one change up forward to provide another ariel threat. Elliot Himmelberg is a likely inclusion.

The two sides last met in Round 15 last season which saw the Crows win by 35 points.
