Hawthorn vs North Melbourne Preview

Hawthorn’s tenure under Sam Mitchell is set to begin on Sunday afternoon, as he follows on from the steady rebuild of Alastair Clarkson. They can only improve upon their 14th place finish last season, which is good signs.

Although they didn’t down Richmond in the AAMI Community Series, there will still plenty of positives to come out of the match. In particular the midfield dynamic is promising and can cause multiple headaches to team this season.

Similarly, it’s an exciting time to be a North Melbourne supporter. They have recruited superbly with the likes of Hugh Greenwood and number one draft pick Jason Horne-Francis.

However, they did struggle in the pre-season match against the Sydney Swans and managed to score just a mere 51 points (the lowest of any team throughout the AAMI Community Series.

It’s a tough match to predict considering both sides unpredictability heading into the start of the season, but I believe North Melbourne has enough in them to bring home the four points.
