Gold Coast vs Melbourne Preview

Gold Coast passed the first test of their campaign by battling past the injury-riddled Eagles by 27 points in what was their first triumph over the 2018 premiers on the road in their short history.

It is crucially important that they keep passing these milestones en route towards the club’s first finals appearance. One of those building blocks is against Melbourne, a side they suffered their worst defeat of last season too.

Similarly, the Demons picked up where they left off last season by downing the Western Bulldogs by 26 points in the Grand Final replay. Christian Petracca played a big role with a career-best performance to silence the doubters of his inability to stay consistent for multiple seasons.

This has been a fixture that has favoured Simon Goodwin’s side in the past, with his outfit winning the previous nine meetings by an average of eight goals. They will fancy their chances again on Saturday night.

It’s hard to see this result going any other way than a triumph for the reigning premiers. So, you can expect them to continue their recent dominance over the in-experienced Suns.
