Melbourne vs Gold Coast Preview and Prediction

Melbourne will search for their second win of the season whilst Gold Coast are looking to keep their place in the top eight.

Melbourne was very disappointing again last week losing to the struggling Tigers by 27 points.

Melbourne have been slaughtered in the media and by past players for their inefficiency going forward, only averaging a low of 37.4% this season so far.

Ruckman, Max Gawn, was best on the ground against the Tigers finishing the match with 22 disposals, 33 hit-outs and five clearances.

Meanwhile, Gold Coast lost their first away game of the season against the Cats, slightly de-railing their finals chances. Although the Suns lost, they showed a lot of determination and spirit for a young side.

The loss wasn’t the only bad thing to come from the game with young superstar Matt Rowell obtaining a shoulder injury which will see him miss three months.

Hugh Greenwood led the lines for the Suns finishing with 21 disposals, 11 tackles and six clearances.

Melbourne have a strong history against the Suns, and I believe they could win and cause an upset.

Melbourne vs Gold Coast Team News

Melbourne make four changes with Harley Bennell, Neville Jetta, Oscar McDonald and Sam Weideman coming into the side for Adam Tomlinson, Jayden Hunt, Joel Smith and Trent Rivers.

The Suns make two changes to the side that lost to Geelong with Brayden Fiorini and Izak Rankine coming into the side for Will Powell and the injured Matt Rowell.

These sides last met in Round 8 last season which saw Melbourne win a nail-biting encounter by one point.
