North Melbourne vs Melbourne Preview
Melbourne will be looking to turn their season around when they take on North Melbourne in AFL Round 15. The Demons were heavily fancied to feature in the top four this season but have slumped to 11th on the ladder, having lost four of their past five matches.
The Demons were most recently in action back on King’s Birthday, going down to Collingwood by 38. They have since had the opportunity to freshen up due to the bye in Round 14.
They take on a Kangaroos outfit that somehow lost their Round 14 clash to Collingwood by a point, despite leading by as much as 54 early in the third quarter. Alistair Clarkson’s side have just won one match for the season, with that coming in Round 14 against West Coast.
Despite the discrepancy in the respective win-los records, this could be an interesting one with North Melbourne in relatively good recent form compared to Melbourne. Nick Larkey and Cam Zurhaar combined for seven goals last weekend, while Luke Davies Uniacke and George Wardlaw both picked up 30+ disposals.
Despite being underdogs, they are not without a chance against a Demons side that are lacking confidence. Christian Petracca is out for the rest of the season as he nurses injuries sustained in the Magpies match, while Jake Lever is expected to be unavailable.
