Brisbane vs North Melbourne Preview

The Brisbane Lions have started the season without defeat thus far, but that isn’t to say it has been convincing. They fought back against the struggling Power in Round 1 and weren’t convincing against the Bombers last weekend.

Nevertheless, they never had to leave second gear against Essendon despite being four goals behind during the early stages of the second quarter. In positive news, Lachie Neale looks to have returned to his talismanic best, averaging 36 disposals and a goal in the opening two rounds.

Meanwhile, North Melbourne secured the first win of their campaign against the undermanned Eagles. It was their first test heading into a game as clear favourites and they didn’t fail to deliver.

Young tall-forward Nick Larkey starred in that win, kicking six majors to ensure his side walked away with the four points. However, they will find it tough going against a premiership contender.

Although the Lions have struggled during periods of matches this season, I don’t see them falling short against an injury-stricken Kangaroos outfit on Saturday night.
