North Melbourne vs Carlton Preview and Prediction

North Melbourne suffered its fifth straight loss with a 54-point defeat at the hands of last years premiers, Richmond.

The Kangaroos were embarrassing in their fiery encounter against the Tigers, only managing to kick two goals from 13 scoring shots in the entire game.

Despite dominating the clearances, the Kangaroos finished the match with 23 less inside 50’s and nine less scoring shots than the Tigers.

You can expect to see the Kangaroos bring a fierce, tough and physical brand of football against the Blues on Saturday.

Shaun Higgins was best on the ground for North Melbourne on a dull night finishing the match with 36 disposals, five tackles and five score involvements.

Meanwhile, Carlton lost by three points against Port Adelaide thanks to a heart-breaking goal after the siren from Robbie Gray.

Carlton used the Gabba to their advantage, playing an open and fast free-flowing game which hurt Port Adelaide on the scoreboard.

The Blues will be looking to punish North Melbourne in the middle of the ground this week by using handball chains on the outside of the contest to quickly move the ball up the ground.

Sam Walsh played particularly well against the Power finishing the match with 16 disposals, five score involvements and two goals.

I believe the poignant reminder of North Melbourne suffering its sixth consecutive loss will be a reality on Saturday.

North Melbourne vs Carlton Team News

The Kangaroos make four changes with Cameron Zurhaar, Jed Anderson, Luke Davies-Uniacke and Nick Larkey coming into the side for Aiden Bonar, Jack Ziebell, Marley Williams and Mason Wood

Carlton remain unchanged from the side that lost to Port Adelaide last week. Sam Docherty is set to play his 100th game on Saturday.

The two sides last met last season which saw the Kangaroos come away with a 58-point victory.
