Carlton vs North Melbourne Preview

The Blues kept their slim finals hopes alive with a stirring 29-point triumph over traditional rivals Collingwood.

The Blues looked shaky in the opening half of the match, constantly turning the ball over when transferring it to the forward half, but young superstar Sam Walsh had other ideas and dragged his side to victory, finishing the match with 39 disposals and a goal.

David Teague’s side currently sits 13th and four points outside their eight. However, they will need a couple of percentage boosting games, with the last finals spots likely coming down to percentage. It’s in matches like these where they will need to do that, let alone claiming a must four points.

Meanwhile, the Kangaroos showed positive signs in their loss against the Bombers last time out.

North Melbourne was the better side for the majority of their first half, with their run and willingness to outnumber at each contest giving them a sizeable advantage.

They will have their midfield bolstered with the return of Jed Anderson and the in-form Ben Cunnington as they look to showcase their physical advantage over the Blues.

I wouldn’t be surprised if North Melbourne gets the four points in this encounter, but the Blues have more on the line and should prove too strong.

Blues vs Kangaroos Team News

Patrick Cripps will return to the side following his week off with soreness, whilst Marc Murphy is also in the frame. Matt Owies could make way on Saturday.

The Kangaroos should gain duo Jed Anderson and Ben Cunnington against the Blues. Jack Mahoney will miss with a shoulder injury.

The two sides last met in Round 8 last season, which saw the Power win by seven points.
