North Melbourne vs Sydney Preview

The Kangaroos started brightly but ultimately fell short against the reigning premiers by 33 points.

It was a real Jekyll and Hyde performance from the Kangaroos, with their willingness to starve the Tigers of tempo providing a dominating first half. However, last year’s premiers ran over the top of the young side as they fell to their 15th defeat of the season.

Although the Kangaroos are likely to be awarded the wooden spoon, they have shown some promising signs over the last two months to show they are on the right track, with some solid foundations.

Meanwhile, the Swans were lacklustre in their loss against the Saints by 29 points last time out.

Sydney’s loss ended their five-game winning streak and any chance they had of making the top-four. They were never able to get the game on their terms and if it wasn’t for their accuracy, it could’ve been a greater margin.

Although their top-four hopes are diminished, they still have secured themselves a home elimination final at the very least. Lance Franklin has a strong record against the Kangaroos as he closes in on 1,000 career goals.

Although the Swans lost last week, I expect they will bounce back in strong style.

Roos vs Swans Team News

The Roos will look to give players some opportunities in the first team, with only two rounds remaining. Phoenix Spicer and Will Phillips are amongst those names.

Callum Mills is set to return after being a late out last week, with Dylan Stephens the likely player to make way.

The two sides last met in Round 3 this season, which saw the Swans win by nine points.
