North Melbourne vs West Coast Preview

North Melbourne showed a lot of positive signs throughout their 20-point defeat at the hands of Hawthorn. Number one pick Jason Horne-Francis looks to be the real deal early on and will be intriguing to see how his development continues over the year.

In all honesty, the Kangaroos started the game the better side last week. However, they failed to make the most of their chances delivering the ball inside 50 and only managed to hold a nervy seven-point lead heading into the half.

Similarly, the Eagles also started the season with a defeat, falling 27-points short against the Gold Coast. That marked the first occasion that West Coast has lost a home game against the Suns in their history.

There are plenty of selection headaches for Adam Simpson, with just 16 players available for selection due to a COVID outbreak within the playing squad. They will be relying on the top-up players to fill the gaps.

North Melbourne enter the match as the heavy favourites, and I do believe it will be a close match despite the Eagles at a far-fetched price. However, the home ground advantage should get the Roos over the line.
