Port Adelaide vs Western Bulldogs Preview

After starting the season winless in their first five matches, Ken Hinkley’s have brought themselves back into contention, with back-to-back wins against West Coast (84 points) and most recently St Kilda (one point).

Despite leading for just 15 minutes and falling short in the clearances and inside 50 department, Robbie Gray’s late minor was enough to get them over the line in a classic at Cazaly.

Similarly, the Western Bulldogs also found themselves on the winner’s list in a comfortable 32-point triumph over the struggling Bombers in what was a much-needed win.

Although they cruised to victory, they never had to leave first gear and still have a long way to go if they are to reach the heights of last season. In positive news, they managed to kick 100 points without the influence of Aaron Naughton, who didn’t kick a major.

Despite Port Adelaide heading into the match as the underdogs, I believe they match up well against last year’s grand finalists and could come away with the four points if they can get the crowd on their side early.
