Gold Coast vs Richmond Preview

The Suns fell short against North Melbourne by nine points last time out.

Despite starting off the season well, Gold Coast have lost six of their previous seven games, with their only win coming against 17th placed Hawthorn.

They struggled in the midfield without captain David Swallow and the injured Lachie Weller, losing the clearances by a margin of 19. However, Swallow will be returning for Thursday’s clash as they look to get first use of the ball.

Meanwhile, the reigning premiers were embarrassed by the struggling Saints by 40 points.

The Tigers were kept to a mere 22 points against 12th placed St Kilda, which was their lowest score since 1961 and their lowest score at the MCG since the 1927 Grand Final.

There’s no doubt that Damien Hardwick’s side will be out to prove a point on the conversation about their premiership credentials as finals fast approaches. Although it has taken a hit, with defender Noah Balta suffering a suspected ACL injury.

Although the Tigers were horrendous in their last outing, I believe they will bounce back with a point to prove.

Suns vs Tigers Team News

Sam Collins and David Swallow are set to be handy inclusions after recovering from their injuries.

The Tigers are set to make at least two changes with Nathan Broad and Noah Balta getting injured against the Saints. However, David Astbury is set to return. Former Sun Tom Lynch is still a week away.

The two sides last met in Round 12 last season, which saw the Tigers win by 21 points.
