St Kilda vs Richmond Preview

The Tigers will look to get back to winning ways on Friday night after a heartbreaking loss to the Eagles last time out.

The reigning premiers led by as much as four goals midway through the final term, but a disappointing collapse saw them lose to a Josh Kennedy snap in the final minute of the match.

They will have some more experienced and pivotal role players return, with Dion Prestia and David Astbury returning from injuries. This will make up for their lack of composure during critical moments of the match against West Coast.

However, they should stroll past the Saints and will have plenty of confidence in doing so. The meeting between these sides earlier in the season saw the Tigers prevail by 86 points.

Meanwhile, the Saints coughed up a handy lead to lose to the Crows by one goal.

Similarly to Richmond, St Kilda conceded the final seven goals of the match to lose by six points in what was a must-win match to keep their optimistic finals hopes alive.

It will be the first match with fans allowed back into the stadiums of Victoria since their cluster earlier in the month. 25,000 fans are allowed to enter the MCG on Friday night.

St Kilda will also have their fair share of firepower back for Friday night’s encounter, with Seb Ross and Tim Membrey returning after taking leave for family reasons. Whilst Rowan Marshall will also return from injury, which will help take the load off Paddy Ryder.

I can’t see Richmond losing this match, and I suspect there will be a large victory on the cards.

Saints vs Tigers Team News

Dion Prestia and David Astbury are ready to return to side, Daniel Rioli will likely be the medical sub.

The Saints will regain three stars for their clash against the Tigers, with Tim Membrey and Seb Ross set to return after taking leave, whilst Rowan Marshall is also available for selection. Hunter Clark will miss with a fractured jaw.

The two sides last met in Round 5 this season, which saw the Tigers win by 86 points.
