Richmond vs North Melbourne Preview

The Tigers fell to a heart-breaking four-point defeat at the hands of Fremantle last time out.

In what was a match full of missed chances, it was Richmond’s inaccuracy that hurt them more and cost them the four points. They’re having a hard time of things this season, and only have one win in their last seven matches.

It seems to be that the lack of influence from the small forwards this season has been an issue, coupled with their unlucky run of injuries to their midfield and defence throughout the season. However, the defence will be bolstered with the return of Nathan Broad.

The Tigers finish the season against three sides outside the top eight and statistically have the easiest finish to the season out of all their finals contenders. A huge match against the Giants next week will loom if they fail to get a result here.

Meanwhile, the Kangaroos gave it their all without some stars, but it wasn’t enough to get past the Cats.

Despite only winning two of their last five matches, North Melbourne continue to show signs of improvement within their game. Particularly their forward half pressure and ball movement going inside 50.

They will regain two of their best stars, who are having their career-best seasons for this clash. Tarryn Thomas and Cameron Zurhaar have recovered from their respective injuries and are available for Saturday’s match.

This is a tough match to predict, with the Tigers possessing more quality, but their form suggests otherwise, or the Roos, who are playing good footy but not quite getting the results. Considering the game is at the MCG, I will be backing the Tigers to get a much-needed four points.

Tigers vs Roos Team News

Nathan Broad has recovered from his injury and will be available for selection this week. Whilst Damien Hardwick could look to change the forward dynamic, with Jake Aarts or Jason Castagna making way.

North Melbourne will have two big inclusions, with Tarryn Thomas and Cameron Zurhaar set to return. Atu Bosenavulagi will be one of the players to likely make way.

The two sides last met in Round 7 last season, which saw the Tigers win by 54 points.
