Richmond vs Carlton Preview

Richmond returned to winning ways following their week off with the bye, in a crucial 12-point triumph over Port Adelaide last time out. Although they could have made it easier on themselves if they managed to take their chances.

Nevertheless, it is also another finals-like match between a rival this week, which would suit the Tigers rather than the Blues. Damien Hardwick’s side has won their last four at the MCG, but on the other hand, Carlton has lost one of their nine matches in Victoria this season.

Similarly, Michael Voss’s side has an identical recent record in their last six as the Tigers, winning five. Most recently, they flexed their muscles and spoiled the party in Essendon’s 150-year celebration in a cruisy five-goal victory to return to the top four.

It was the Blues who prevailed in the meeting earlier in the season to end an 11-match losing streak against Richmond. In that clash, they came from 20-points behind in the final term to come away 25-point winners.

This is a match that you don’t want to miss on Thursday night, with it promising to be more entertaining than their season opener. Although I do believe the Tigers could be the team to come out on top this time around.
