The Round 23 match shapes as a crucial one for Carlton, who desperately need a win to keep their finals hopes alive.

The Blues had a horror day against Hawthorn in Round 23, suffering a number of injuries to key players when going down to the Hawks by 74 points. That loss saw them surrender their spot in the eight and last year’s Preliminary Finalists now sit in 9th position with one game to follow after the Eagles game.

West Coast enjoy the home ground advantage and come in with two straight wins under their belt. They defeated the Gold Coast Suns at Perth Stadium two weeks ago by 10 points, before pulling off a stunning victory against North Melbourne by five points, overcoming a 13-point deficit with less than two minutes on the clock.

Oscar Allen booted five goals, while Jeremy McGovern was a steadying influence down back. If Elliot Yeo, Harley Reid and Tim Kelly can find more of the footy, they can end the Blues finals hopes with a win.
