West Coast vs Melbourne Preview

West Coast is staring down their ninth defeat of the season against the reigning premiers on Sunday. They only kicked 30 points against the Lions, the lowest of their season so far. It has also been four consecutive losses by at least 60 points.

If they are to lose on the weekend, it will be their worst start to a season since 1989. Not only are they not getting results on the board, but they are also having some off-field issues.

The Eagles fined seven players for breaching the club’s protocols by attending a nightclub after their embarrassing loss against the Tigers in Round 7.

It doesn’t look like Simon Goodwin’s winning run will come to an end anytime soon, with the run now stretching to 15 matches following a workmanlike 38-point win over the Saints last time out.

This is now Melbourne’s second-longest winning streak in their club’s long 164-year history. Their midfield powerhouses were at it again, with Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Ed Langdon all having 30+ disposals.

It’s obvious to see who will come out on top in this clash despite the Eagle’s strong recent record against the Demons. So, you can expect a thrashing to bring the round to a close.

Eagles vs Demons Stats
