GWS vs West Coast Preview

GWS fell to back-to-back losses for already the third time this season after falling short against the optimistic Blues at home in their last outing by 30-points. It was the fourth time this season that they have conceded 100 points.

It will be intriguing to see the new Giants game plan following the departure of long-serving coach Leon Cameron. Former Bomber Mark McVeigh has been named as interim coach, who has been in the coaching ranks at the club since 2015.

Meanwhile, the Eagles extended their losing streak to five consecutive 70+ point losses against the reigning premiers last time out. It was the third time in the last four weeks that Adam Simpson’s side failed to score more than 40 points.

West Coast could welcome back a host of players from injury, with Luke Shuey, Andrew Gaff, Patrick Naish and Elliot Yeo all close to returns based on mid-week fitness tests. However, they will be without x-factor forward Liam Ryan due to suspension.

Both sides have endured tough and long campaigns so far in 2022, but this is a good chance for GWS to turn the tide and create some momentum heading into the bye rounds. So, you can expect them to win comfortably on Sunday afternoon.
