Western Bulldogs vs Geelong Preview

The Saturday night clash is the second of an Adelaide Oval double header in Gather Round and sees the Western Bulldogs take on the unbeaten Geelong side.

Little separates the two in the head to head betting. The Bulldogs have won two of their three matches in 2024 and come off a dominant 76 point win over the West Coast Eagles in Round 3. They held the Eagles to just three goals, while kicking 16 themselves.

Marcus Bontempelli played primarily as a forward and booted three majors, while Adam Treloar found a stack of the footy. The former Hawthorn player, Lachie Bramble, continued the solid start for his new club with 27 disposals.

Geelong are one of just four remaining sides that are unbeaten this season and enjoyed a 36-point win over Hawthorn on Easter Monday, in a match that halted for 45 minutes due to storms and lightning activity. Oliver Henry and Tom Hawkins combined for eight goals, while Tanner Bruhn and Mitch Duncan both had over 25 disposals.

Hard to split these two sides. Neither were really tested against inferior opposition last weekend. Geelong will be without Patrick Dangerfield, who remains on the sidelines with a hamstring injury and the Bulldogs might just have slightly greater depth in the midfield to get them through.
