What is the $10 to $10K Challenge?
It’s pretty simple. Also known as the ‘Ladder Challenge 🪜’, you begin by placing a $10 bet on Day 1 that generally equates to odds of $2.00. You can either place an outright $2.00 bet or combine a bunch of smaller legs. For the AFL, we’re going to be focusing on smaller player props odds (disposals & goal scorers) the majority of the time. The idea is to double your money with each bet until you reach $10,000. So you will need to land 10 consecutive bets at odds of $2.00 in a row to reach your target. Check out the table below.
BET | STAKE | ODDS | WINNINGS |
1 | $10 | $2.00 | $20 |
2 | $20 | $2.00 | $40 |
3 | $40 | $2.00 | $80 |
4 | $80 | $2.00 | $160 |
5 | $160 | $2.00 | $320 |
6 | $320 | $2.00 | $640 |
7 | $640 | $2.00 | $1280 |
8 | $1280 | $2.00 | $2650 |
9 | $2560 | $2.00 | $5120 |
10 | $5120 | $2.00 | $10240 |
How to win the $10 to $10K Challenge
There’s no definitive strategy to land the $10k challenge, but there are a few things you can do in order to give yourself the best shot. The most important is don’t rush your selections – a lot of punters like to place one bet per day, so the challenge is over in 10 days. This can lead to misguided selections. During the AFL season, we will be kicking off each challenge with the Thursday night game and depending on what we fancy over the weekend, we will place our bets accordingly. In short, we won’t try and accomplish this challenge over the nine games of a single weekend, rather over multiple rounds. We’d also encourage to withdraw part of your winnings on whatever day you feel comfortable in order to ensure some sort of profit over the duration of the challenge (eg, if you make it to Day 6 with $640, take out a certain amount and continue on with the challenge).
