Adelaide vs Western Bulldogs Preview

The Adelaide Crows and the Western Bulldogs feature in the final match of AFL Round 22 and the Sunday night encounter should be hotly contested.

Adelaide will be out to bounce back after suffering two recent losses but the task at hand will be tough against the Bulldogs, who have chalked up four straight wins to sit in 7th spot on the ladder.

Luke Beveridge’s side were far too good for Melbourne last weekend, handing the Demons a 51-point defeat. That margin should have been more were it not for some stray kicking in front of goal.

Adelaide travelled to Geelong and nearly pulled off an upset, going down to the Cats by five points. Jordan Dawson and Rory Laird were among the better players for the Crows, who regain Izak Rankine from suspension.

With the classy forward/midfielder back in the fray, the Crows shape as a tricky proposition for the Bulldogs, who were thumped by Port Adelaide the last time they played at the Adelaide Oval.

Marcus Bontempelli and Adam Treloar will provide plenty of drive from the middle, while Dogs fans will be hoping Jamarra Ugle-Hagan has his kicking boots on after registering 2.6 last weekend.

The Bulldogs have won four of the past five matches between the two sides but have not played Adelaide in Adelaide since 2018 and the Crows have won the past two matches between the two sides at the venue. Expect this one to go right down to the wire and the Crows do look the value at the line.
