Raiders vs Sea Eagles Preview and Prediction

Manly have revenge and a top four spot on their minds when they square off against Canberra on Friday night at Suncorp.

Canberra pulled off one of the bigger upsets of the season when they toppled Manly 30-16 at Lottoland last month, but we don’t think that win holds much merit considering the Sea Eagles were without Tom Trbojevic.

Tommy Turbo was initially supposed to be sidelined again for this clash, but Manly have named him in the starting side after his cheekbone injury wasn’t as bad as first feared.

With the Sea Eagles hoping to secure a top four position ahead of the Roosters and Eels, they need Trbojevic back on deck for the run into the finals.

Manly were at their ruthless attacking best against Parramatta last week, racking up 10 tries in a 56-10 demolition, with Turbo crossing for another try and Reuben Garrick bagging another hat-trick.

Meanwhile, the Raiders put up a brave effort against competition leaders Melbourne before falling to a 26-16 defeat.

Canberra have won four of their last six matches, but they slipped to ninth following that loss to Melbourne and risk falling further back if they go down to Manly on Friday night.

There cause hasn’t been helped with Jarrod Croker and Tom Starling sidelined with injury.

VERDICT:

It all rests on the fitness of Trbojevic – if he plays, Manly should win comfortably, but if he doesn’t, bet accordingly.

We’re going to back Turbo to lace on the boots and as such, take the Sea Eagles to win another relatively high-scoring affair, with their last nine wins coming by 13+ margins (Best Manly win & Over 49.5 points odds with Sportsbet).
