Rabbitohs vs Bulldogs Preview and Prediction

South Sydney will be confident of extending their current winning streak to six matches when they face the struggling Bulldogs on Sunday night at Cbus Super Stadium.

It’s been a great season for the Rabbitohs and they will almost certainly be featuring at the business end of the season.

Wayne Bennett’s side have only lost to the Panthers and Storm in 2021, conquering all teams they’ve faced below them on the ladder.

The Bunnies have been scoring points for fun during their five-match winning streak – they’ve registered 38 points or more in four of those victories, while they also kept the Broncos scoreless during that period.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs have lost 14 of their 16 matches this season and simply don’t have the roster or talent to trouble the top sides in the competition.

Canterbury put in a big effort against the Roosters last week, completing at 83 per cent and making just seven errors, but they still went down by six points.

On a positive note, it was a massive improvement from their embarrassing 66-0 loss to the Sea Eagles from the previous week.

However, it’s always the same old story with the Dogs – they don’t have the attack and creativity to put points on the board, so when they go behind, it’s almost an impossible task for them to recover.

VERDICT:

South Sydney will almost certainly emerge victorious, but we can find a bit of value by taking them and under the total points line.

The Bulldogs struggle to contribute to points totals and have seen under 48.5 points in 13 of their 16 games this season. Souths should win comfortably, but we get some decent value in going the unders here (best Rabbitohs win & under 48.5 points odds $2.70 with Sportsbet).
