Bulldogs vs Roosters Preview and Prediction
It’s hard to fathom that the Roosters will be fielding a stronger team than the side that demolished Brisbane by a 59-0 scoreline last week, but that’s exactly what they’ll do against the Bulldogs on Sunday.
Star fullback James Tedesco returns at fullback and will be determined to make an immediate statement – something he’s more than capable of doing considering he’s scored the first try in three of the Roosters’ last four day matches in Sydney.
Overall, the Roosters have been sensational since the competition resumed, cruising to an easy win over Souths before last week’s thrashing of Brisbane.
The two-time reigning premiers are now favourites to make it a three-peat in 2020 – and if they can replicate last week’s form, the Bulldogs will be in for a long day at the office.
Canterbury are coming off their first win of the season after subduing the embattled Dragons 22-2 on Monday at Bankwest.
Kieran Foran made a world of difference to Canterbury’s attack as he returned from another long injury lay-off and the Bulldogs will need him at the top of his game if they are to keep the scoreline close.
However, the fact still remains that the Bulldogs lack creativity, and while their defence is great and they love the grind, Dean Pay’s side simply lack the class to compete with the very best right now.
The Roosters should win this easily, but I don’t see an absolute blow-out like last week happening.

Christian Crichton replaces Kerrod Holland on the interchange for Canterbury. The Dogs have yet to name who will replace the suspended Reimis Smith in the backland, with Crichton and Morgan Harper the main candidates.
Tedesco returns for the Roosters at fullback, pushing Ryan Hall out of the side and Brett Morris to the wing.
